Cheese Biscuits

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup cannabutter, cubed

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 1 tsp dried thyme

  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary

  • Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix in the minced garlic, parsley, thyme, rosemary, and the pinch of salt.

  3. Add 3/4 cup of cubed cannabutter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter incorporate the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Gently fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Add 1/4 cup of cubed cannabutter and add it to the mixture.

  5. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.

  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and use a round biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

  8. Allow to cool and serve while warm.
